What's the etiquette for an in-home massage?
Most people worry about this more than they need to. Your therapist does this every day, in homes of every kind, and there is very little you need to get right.
Your space
A clear area with enough room for the table is all that is needed. Nobody is judging your home. If you want the room a little warmer, or quieter, or want to let other people in the house know not to interrupt, that is for your own comfort rather than anything expected of you.
Getting ready
A shower beforehand is nice if you have time, but not required. Skip heavy perfume or lotion, since your therapist brings their own oils. Wear whatever is comfortable before and after.
Say what you need
This is the one thing that genuinely matters. Tell your therapist about any injuries, recent surgery, areas to avoid or health conditions before you start. During the session, speak up if you want more or less pressure, or if you are too warm or too cold. They would much rather adjust than have you lie there uncomfortable.
Clothing and draping
Undress to whatever level you are comfortable with. You will be draped at all times, with only the area being worked on uncovered.
Boundaries
This is a professional service. If anything makes you uncomfortable at any point, say so, and contact us afterwards. We take it seriously.
Tipping
A 20% tip is already included in your booking price, so there is nothing to work out at the end and no additional tip is expected. If you want to add something extra after the session, the app will prompt you, and 100% of any additional tip goes directly to your therapist.
Afterwards
Take it easy for a bit and drink some water. If anything felt sore the next day, mention it next time so your therapist can adjust.
